Play & Learning Specialist (Behavior Technician / RBT)

As we strive to innovate and build a better model of care for kids, the role of the Play & Learning Specialist — also known as a Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) — becomes paramount.
Through our play-based approach, you'll help children learn, grow, and thrive every day. Our care model draws from the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), a fun and engaging, play-based form of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. By joining our team, you'll make a direct impact on children's lives and contribute to Soar's mission-driven, family-centered care model.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work one-on-one with children aged 2–6 in our clinic, using play to teach new skills and support growth
- Implement therapy plans designed by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) using play-based ABA principles
- Encourage social, communication, and learning skills through engaging activities and routines
- Support and partner with families by sharing updates and celebrating progress
- Participate in ongoing training and supervision to grow your skills and maintain RBT certification
Qualifications :
Strong preference for enrollment in or completion of a degree program (bonus for Child Development, Psychology, or related fields)Excitement about working with children; prior experience with kids in any setting (teaching, child care, coaching, etc.) is a plusAbility to achieve and maintain RBT certification within first 6 weeks of employment (Soar provides paid training)Note : RBT certification required for CO Springs locationReliable transportation to training location and local center; punctuality is essentialPhysical requirements : ability to sit / kneel on the floor, lift up to 50 lbs., and move quickly to support a child's needsComfort using computers and tablets for session notesTeam-oriented mindset and willingness to learnWhat We Offer :
