Food Service Director / General Manager

Location : Washington DC / Government Dining Services

Salary : $100K range

We are seeking a stellar Food Service Director with a strong background in multi-outlet retail dining who shares our passion for amazing food and unforgettable service. Enjoy a work / life balance, Monday-Friday daylight in a prominent setting in a Washington DC government entity dining setting. We require a polished and professional identity with a winning attitude from a director with experience leading a team in all operations. Multi-outlet retail dining experience is a must overseeing caf, grab and go, and national brand retail outlets.

Metz Culinary Management is growing and we have openings for a rock star Food Service Director / GM who shares our passion for food and service. This position is a prominent opportunity in a busy commercial kitchen and caf operations setting and requires a polished and professional identity and winning attitude from a director with experience leading a team in all operations. Experience desired in a contract dining food service setting such as hospital, school, college, senior living or corporate dining accounts.

The Food Service Director / GM has an overall responsibility of food service. He / she institutes company cycle menus and recipes; plans and oversees purchasing, employee personnel programs, scheduling, bookkeeping, customer and client relations; oversees the food preparation service and sanitation; and is accountable for the total operation results. The General Manager reports to client administration and the district manager.

Skills and experience :

• 3+ years in a food service manager role (front and back)
• Knowledgeable in retail sales and POS systems
• Catering management experience
• Impeccable communication skills
• Restaurant management knowledge
• Thorough knowledge of menu implementation with stunning presentation ideas
• Team building with strong recruiting and retention program
• Technology savvy
• Hospitality degree a strong plus
