Job Title : Sr. Designer
Location : Menomonee Falls, WI
Reich Tool & Design, a Menomonee Falls based, family-owned and operated Tool and Die manufacturer for 60 years is searching for the right person to join it’s Design Department as a Sr Designer. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on candidate with
good leadership and mentoring skills. The qualified candidate would report directly to the General Manager.
This is a full-time, first shift position Monday - Friday with possible overtime based on Company needs. Expected hours are 40-45 per week.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software, including Solidworks and LogoPress; including future innovations and purchases.
- Ability to create tools, special machinery or multi-stage transfer, progressive and prototype die(s) that meets customer’s requirements and expectations.
- ‘Request for Quote’ (RFQ) pricing.
- Work with Project Managers to address customer’s concerns and ideas.
- Interact and communicate with customers, as needed.
- Follow a list of established design standards.
- Develop working relationships with shop departments to address and resolve problems and to develop better cooperation for working together toward producing the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost.
- Ability to present project concept and lead presentation at the start of manufacturing.
- Ensure the completion of all paperwork, records, documents, etc.
- Assist in development and implementation of procedures and controls to promote efficient lean operations of the organization and ensure the groups follow those procedures and controls.
- Ability to adjust working schedule to changing workloads in the shop.
- Ability to multi-task a few jobs.
- Able to work overtime when requested to meet the needs of customer timelines.
- Mentor Jr. Designers in the design department.
- Participate in self-directed work teams to address and resolve quality problems and to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
- Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001, 5S practices, LEAN and world class manufacturing initiatives.
- Commits to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.
- Regular physical attendance is required.
- Travel, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications Necessary :
High school education or GED.8-10 years’ experience designing multi-stage transfer, progressive and prototype metal stamping die(s).Proficient with Solidworks and LogoPress computer software.Blueprint Reading and understanding GD&T.Advanced Computer skills : Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.Ability to design all types of dies, fixtures and prototypes.Prior manufacturing experience, in a non-production environment, useful.Preferred Requirements / Qualifications :
5+ years’ experience in design using 3D geometry.Prior project management type experience in leading jobs.Associate Degree in Tool Design or Tool and Die.Certified Journeyman Tool and Die Maker.Post offer drug screen and background check required.
Pay : $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
