Quality Project Manager
The Quality Project Manager plans, manages, and provides leadership with project implementations and support of information systems. This position motivates Information Services (IS) Staff and Team Members to maintain positive working relationships within the department and with clients. The Quality Project Manager participates and approves pre and post-implementation feasibility studies, business plans, and benefits analysis studies. This position also ensures all elements of cost, benefit, and risk that are identified and considered during the process. The Quality Project Manager organizes, directs, and develops project team resources in order to effectively meet implementation project commitments of the department and allow growth for staff in areas of technology, client business, and project management.
Participates as a team member related to planning and implementation of projects of information systems and manages small size projects with oversight as needed. This includes identifying, documenting, and communicating project scope and objectives, incorporating Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) and IS strategies to allow the project to meet short and long-term objectives. Maintains awareness of the healthcare environment and possible impacts on projects. Re-examines project plan and identifies issues for client and IS Management when environmental issues impact project plan. Identifies staffing requirements for project. Accounts for project requirements, staff abilities, staff productivity, staff growth, and development needs. Manages work plan to meet committed timeframes. Status monitors project status; provides periodic reports; and provides problem resolution to project issues. Serves as a liaison between the End User and Project Team Members. Ensures adherence to departmental standards through the project. Establishes performance goals and expectations for Project Team Members. Performs project evaluations of Project Team Members. Participates in the process to ensure timely and appropriate response to system questions and problems. Participates in pre and post-implementation feasibility studies, business plans, and benefit analysis studies. Ensures elements of cost, benefit, and risk are identified and considered during the process. Serves as a contact to Senior Management regarding project progress and problem resolution. Serves as a resource person regarding information system technology and product to Project Teams. Participates in RFI and RFP development. Interviews, provides recommendations regarding hiring and terminations, performs reviews of assigned staff, counsels, supports employee development, and provides input regarding termination of personnel. Ensures appropriate integration of new applications or projects with existing production applications.
