American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry Float Pool position with night shifts and a requirement for an active WA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital settingAssigned to the Med / Surg Telemetry Float Pool, floating between Med Surg, PCU, ED boarding, and temporary bed locations as neededCare for adult patients with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, ETOH withdrawal, kidney issues, dementia, and CVAPatient ratios are typically 5 : 1, with a possible maximum of 6 : 1 during inpatient boardingUnit has 32 beds with telemetry monitoring; nurses are responsible for reading telemetry stripsShifts are 12 hours, from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 30 am, with every other weekend requiredEpic EMR is used, and Epic training will be provided during orientationFloor-specific orientation is providedCharge nurse and nurse aides are present on each shiftFloating is required between several units including Med Surg, PCU, and ED boarding areasNurses are supported by a cross-shift SWAT IV team, 24 / 7 respiratory therapy, and 24 / 7 pharmacy accessCare is provided in a highly observed environment with camera monitoringHoliday coverage is requiredScrub attire must be professional in color, pattern, and style as no specific color is mandatedNurses may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past yearFirst-time travelers will be considered for this positionRequirements
