Position Overview
Responsible for the coordination and execution of the OASE program. Work with National OA staff and the Summit to deliver a program that promotes the values and traditions of the OA.
Key Responsibilities
- Train Foreman to deliver the OASE Programing
- Coordinate the support of groups in the field with food, water, equipment, including the National Park Service
- Communicate with scouts and parents prior to arrival
- Observe and Coach staff throughout the season with the goal of improving performance
- Perform written staff evaluations at the mid-season point and at the end of the season
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
Minimum age : 21+Preferred : Trail building experienceRequired 1+ yr. leading teams, Prefer 1+ Summit employmentAbility to pass Red Cross First Aid, Wilderness First Aid and CPR Certifications (training provided)Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift / move up to 70 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height / weight guidelinesHousing : 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform : Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours : 45-55Desired Traits
