I am seeking a seasoned Estimator and Estimation Leader for our client, you’ll be at the center of turnkey site development, leading earthwork and utilities estimating while also contributing to project planning and management.
From the first client conversation to the moment ground is broken, your expertise will shape how projects take form.
This role places you at the foundation of the company success, ensuring accuracy, foresight, and collaboration at every step.
This role is more than crunching numbers, it is about building trust, uncovering the right solutions, and ensuring every project begins with clarity, precision, and confidence for flawless construction.
You’ll partner closely with leaders across the organization including the Vice President of Pre-Construction, marketing and field operations teams, superintendents, and foremen to deliver estimates that win work.

What You’ll Do
Lead the estimating process - Review project plans, specs, and bid instructions to define scope, align with customers, and develop accurate estimates.Dig deep into the details - Visit sites to identify challenges and opportunities such as accessibility, soil conditions, and demolition needs.Leverage technology & expertise - Use AgTek for precise take-offs, volume calculations, and quantity tracking, and Heavy Bid to build detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates.Build strong partnerships - Collaborate with subcontractors to define clear scopes, close pricing gaps, and evaluate bids fairly.Drive smart decision-making - Research materials, methods, equipment, and labor requirements to ensure efficiency, safety, and value.Own the proposal process - Develop detailed bid proposals with inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications, and present them confidently to clients.Stay connected to clients - Follow up proactively, answer questions, negotiate, and strengthen relationships after proposals are submitted.Support project success - Partner with leadership in contract negotiations, budgets, schedules, and change orders to keep projects on track and profitable.What Makes You a Great Fit

6–10 years of proven experience in earthwork and utilities estimating.Strong ability to read and interpret complex plans and specifications.Advanced estimating skills with expertise in Heavy Bid and AgTek.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with ability to create and manage Critical Path Schedules.Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.Solid understanding of budget accounting methods and procedures.Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and the full construction process to ensure accurate cost projections.Experience collaborating with, evaluating, and negotiating with subcontractors.Confident in presenting, explaining, and defending costs associated with Bid Proposals and Change Orders.Self-starter with sound independent judgment and a team-oriented mindset.Education & Certifications (Preferred / Optional (commensurate with experience) )
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) designation through the American Society of Professional Estimators (a plus).OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training (a plus).We sincerely appreciate your interest in this opportunity.
