Day Hab Assistant Manager Position
The Day Hab Assistant Manager will assist the Manager with oversight of day-to-day operations of their assigned locations. This includes programming for persons served, assisting with staff scheduling and trainings. The Day Hab Assistant Manager will report directly to the Day Hab Manager.
Responsibilities
- Subscribe to PI's mission, purpose and philosophies.
- Assist in the hiring, orientation, training, of Day Habilitation employees as assigned by the Day Habilitation Manager and / or Community Services Coordinator.
- Assist Day Hab Manager with supervision, scheduling and evaluation of assigned Day Habilitation employees. Meet with them regularly to empower them to produce positive outcomes and high-quality services.
- Provide direction to staff as appropriate for programming purposes.
- Ensure that necessary records and documentation are maintained in accordance with policy and regulations (review of service logs, GERs, PS attendance / billing and CQI corrective actions).
- Assist DH Manager with coordinating programming between residential and day program components. Maintain close communication with Managers to coordinate programming. Communicate potential community employment opportunities to the Community Services Coordinator.
- Assist DH Manager with routine visits to community-based service locations to ensure safety, sanitation and quality programs.
- Assist with managing the Day Habilitation program to ensure positive behavior supports for persons served and quality service delivery.
- Assist in the enrollment and / or exit of persons served with final approval of the Community Services Coordinator and as specified by applicable regulations.
- Assist DH Manager in attending Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings for persons enrolled in the Day Habilitation Program.
- Manage Day Habilitation program funds in accordance with PI policy and procedure.
- Assist with activity planning, scheduling and supply needs; assist with Day Habilitation weekly supply shopping.
- Assist in transportation scheduling and arrangements for Day Hab participants.
- Assist in completing Day Habilitation department operating budget with the Day Hab Manager and Community Services Coordinator.
- Pursue community-based opportunities for the Day Habilitation program and promote PI mission / vision to potential partners.
- Perform various administrative / operational duties as assigned by the Day Habilitation Manager.
- Present a professional, business-like image to customers, prospects and the public.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for Polk and Jasper HCBS.
Wage Depends On Experience.
Minimum Requirements
Be at least 21 years of age.One of the following qualifications : a) a bachelor's degree in the social or behavioral sciences with one year post-degree experience in human services, or b) a high school degree (or equivalent) and five years post-degree experience in the areas outlined above.Within six months of employment, complete at least 9.5 hours of training in Day Habilitation activities offered through DirectCourse.Attend all mandatory training required for this position, including 4 hours of annual continuing education in Day Habilitation services.Ability to exercise sound judgment and quick decision-making when needed.Effective communication skills, both oral and written; strong skills in leading and conducting trainings.Possess leadership ability related to supervision and training of staff.Maintain a valid Iowa Driver's License with a good driving record and a private automobile used to carry out job duties; hold adequate liability insurance (required : $100,000 / $300,000 / $50,000).Be available for on-call assistance when emergencies arise in assigned program areas and participate in on-call rotation in Polk and Jasper Counties.Proficient computer skills to complete job duties as assigned.Subscribe to PI Mission, Vision and values and implement throughout work in the organization.Who Is Progress Industries
