Insurance Defense Staff Attorney (Alt-Track)

Location :  Dallas, Texas

Work Arrangement :  Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Annual Salary :  $125,000

Join a prestigious Am Law 75 law firm with a significant national presence and robust offices in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Our litigation practice is expanding to serve a sophisticated client base, and we are seeking an experienced attorney for a full-time, alternative track position. This role is ideal for legal professionals seeking a predictable work schedule and meaningful contribution to high-impact litigation, without the traditional pressure of partnership-track billable targets. Annual billable expectations are moderate, ranging from 1,700–1,900 hours.

Role & Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will provide substantial support to the litigation group, working closely with senior counsel and paralegal staff, especially in the early stages of the role. As proficiency grows, increased autonomy is expected, including the management of cases from inception through resolution. Key responsibilities include :

• Conducting comprehensive legal research and analysis; drafting legal briefs, motions for summary judgment, and trial-related documents.
• Preparing timely responses to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
• Performing meticulous document review and organization of case files, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborating in trial preparation, including support for mock trials, witness preparation, and cross-examination.
• Investigating and evaluating opposing arguments to ensure a robust defense for firm clients.
• Developing effective oral advocacy skills and delivering exceptional client service.
• Maintaining a high degree of organization and meeting deadlines for multiple, concurrent matters.
