POSITION : Welder 2nd Shift
LOCATION : Jupiter, FL
STATUS : Hourly Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Set-up and installation of welding equipment
- Execution of welding on gas turbine components as per the required technical specification
- Use of hand tools to assemble / disassemble and prep / blend welds.
- Quality check of the performed work before operation step confirmation
- Preparation / confirmation of the required quality documentation
- Reporting of used production time per production step
- Setting up welding parameters, selects consumable materials, and prepares work piece for new welding process trials together with engineering staff
- Designs and fabricates welding fixtures, chill blocks, and purge boxes as required
- Reporting of technical deviations with the Non-Conformance Reporting System (NCR)
- Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and tools
- Keeping the working environment and machines in a clean and proper condition
- Following Environmental Health and Safety regulations
- Continually improving operations and the working environment
- Other tasks assigned by production manager or supervisor
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education & Training
High School Diploma or GED equivalentCertified in welding (TIG & MIG) or equivalent years of experience.Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training MatrixSkills / Experience
3+ years of experience with TIG welding3+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment1+ years of experience with welding of Ni-base or Ni-Cr alloysExperienced in carrying out visual inspections of weldsDemonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processesPhysical Requirements
Stooping / Crouching. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.Crawling. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers.The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and / or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and / or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.The worker is subject to hazards.
