EXCEPTIONAL ENTRY POLICE OFFICER

Exceptional Entry Police Officer

The City of Lynnwood currently has an exceptional entry police officer position opening. The incumbent of this position is responsible for general duty police work which includes the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes and for maintaining and enforcing law and order. The position is located in the Lynnwood Police Department and is under the direct supervision of the shift duty sergeant.

Applicants hired as exceptional entry police officers will receive a ten thousand dollar ($10,000) incentive. Five thousand dollars ($5,000) will be paid following the start of employment. Two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) will be paid upon successful achievement of solo status. Two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) will be paid upon successful completion of their probationary period. Following completion of the probation period, exceptional entry police officers will also be eligible for additional wage augments including educational premium pay and assignment / specialty pay as applicable.

Police Officer Salary (2025 Base Wages) :

• Step 1 : Hourly Rate $49.1765, Per Pay Period $3,934.12, Annual Salary $102,287.12
• Step 2 : Hourly Rate $53.3703, Per Pay Period $4,269.62, Annual Salary $111,010.22
• Step 3 : Hourly Rate $55.5384, Per Pay Period $4,443.07, Annual Salary $115,519.87
• Step 4 : Hourly Rate $57.7941, Per Pay Period $4,623.53, Annual Salary $120,211.73
• Step 5 : Hourly Rate $59.5790, Per Pay Period $4,766.32, Annual Salary $123,924.32

Minimum Qualifications

Must have been employed as a full-time paid law enforcement officer with a municipal, county or state law enforcement agency 12 months or less continually and be currently employed or separated less than 24 months at time of application and; must have satisfactorily completed the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Officer course or meet the standards prescribed by the Washington State Training Agency Commission for Equivalency.
