Position Summary :

The Mechanical / Dimensional Inspector II is responsible for the performance of moderately complex mechanical inspections per the technical documentation provided using pre-trained and determined methods to determine product acceptability. Working with increased independence and in a team environment, the Mechanical / Dimensional Inspector II will consult with internal team members and consult with other disciplines to resolve issues as they arise.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Verify inspection data with double gaging to ensure component integrity and resolve discrepancies found during part inspection. When required, assist the MRB team in identification of dimensional issues.
• Run moderately complex setups and inspection programs. Diagnose and resolve issues that may arise in reported output and calibration. This includes basic programming, verifying downloads, and communicating results.
• Interpret dimensional tolerances and apply them to components of enhance complexity. Able to identify external specifications referenced in technical documentation and apply to the inspection process.
• Participate in problem-solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to the prevention of customer escapes.
• Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities, including requests for maintenance assistance when needed.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
• May be required to work in other functional areas and / or facilities depending on business needs.
• May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
