Description

At Paylocity, Software Engineering Managers are technology focused leaders that act as the bridge between an engineering team’s outcomes and the business strategies driving those outcomes. It is a critical role in our Product and Technology organization. This key role serves as manager of a team of roughly 10 engineers and is responsible for driving workstream focused outcomes in our employee platforms domain, while working to achieve a high level of performance and efficiency. This position requires commitment to exceptional results, a strong desire for continuous improvement and the ability to build a collaborative culture within the team.

Who you are :

• Highly collaborative Engineering leader who will lead a team of software and test engineers in a remote first environment
• A supportive mentor and coach for your team members of various levels of experience
• Able to collaborate on project planning, leveraging your team to optimize for high quality at the velocity needed by the business
• At ease working at all levels of the organization
• An advocate for quality and continuous improvement of automated testing
• Strongly talented in both written and verbal technical communication
• Steadfast in your desire for production stability, observability, and alerting, ensuring a top-notch customer experience
• A proponent of data-driven decision making
• Driven to stay current by learning and applying new technologies and tools to help guide teams through challenges
• Experienced in leveraging cloud technologies to deliver product and platform solutions
• Willingness to share your ideas in a collaborative environment with an open mind to receive constructive feedback and unafraid to seek out suggestions from other team members
• Adaptable to change and pivot based on situational challenges
• Able to deal with ambiguity and guide your team through nebulous situations
