Ad Val Accountant
The Ad Val Accountant is responsible for accounting tasks within their department as outlined below. This also includes analysis of various aspects related to oil & gas accounting and related transactions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Receive and review Ad Valorem tax statements
- Work with consultants on processing of Ad Valorem taxes
- Continually track and ensure timely payment of taxes
- Work with consultants / counties to resolve any discrepancies
- Review coded tax invoices in Open Invoice for payment
- Ensure all documentation related to payments is provided to the county
- Work with A&D group to ensure tax information is provided as needed
- Ensure that A&D activities related to Ad Valorem are tracked and accounted for monthly
- Complete journal entries and account recons related to taxes
- Communicate with other departments to resolve outstanding items
- Assist other members of the Indirect Tax & Regulatory group as needed
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree (BBA or BS) in AccountingDemonstrated experience in MS Excel, including skills creating and configuring VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Sum IF formulasCommunication skills to effectively work with all levels of an organizationPreferred Qualifications :
Prior work experience or internship is desirableSAP / Open Invoice experience preferredExperience in similar tax-focused position preferredExamples of suggested and implemented process improvements to increase efficiencyFlexibility regarding daily work assignments and prioritiesExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong attention to detail with ability to quickly pick up on new conceptsDiamondback is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
