Role & Responsibilities of the CNC Mill & Lathe Machinist :
As a CNC Machinist at our aerospace company, you will :
Set up and validate initial programs for CNC mills and lathes, ensuring precision and accuracy in machining.
Work with aerospace materials including castings and forgings, from aluminum to high-nickel alloys.
Perform inspections and validate key features directly at the CNC machines.
Collaborate with engineering, programming, and management teams to optimize machining processes and fixture designs.
Demonstrate a strong understanding and application of geometric tolerancing in all machining operations.
Operate Vertical and Horizontal CNC Lathes with minimal supervision, ensuring adherence to specifications and high-quality standards.
Utilize precision measuring equipment to maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality output.
Prioritize workload effectively based on communication from QC and CNC managers.
Adapt to changing work priorities, overcoming machining obstacles to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
Experience & Qualifications Required :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC machining, specifically with aerospace hardware and materials.
Expertise in setting up and running Vertical and Horizontal CNC Lathes.
Proven ability to read blueprints, particularly those supporting the aerospace industry.
Strong working knowledge of geometric tolerancing and precision measurement techniques.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of work quality.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain productive in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on achieving perfect quality in all work.
