DLA Piper is a bold, exceptional, collaborative, and supportive law firm. Our people are the backbone, heart, and soul of our firm. We are seeking a Conflicts Counsel to advise and assist our attorneys and staff in connection with the identification and resolution of conflicts of interest.
Summary
The Conflicts Counsel will advise on conflict of interest issues associated with new clients and matters, analyze prospective legal matters to identify conflicts, and serve as an escalation point for the Conflicts Resolution Group and New Business Intake teams.
Location
This position can be based in any of our US offices and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Advise firm attorneys and staff on conflict of interest issues and ethical walls
- Analyze prospective legal matters to identify conflicts of interest
- Serve as an escalation point for the Conflicts Resolution Group and New Business Intake teams
- Draft and review engagement terms, conflict waiver letters, and ethical wall memoranda
- Support the onboarding of lateral attorney / paralegal candidates
- Work as part of a team with Office of General Counsel attorneys and Conflicts Resolution Group and New Business Intake staff members
- Identify and analyze conflict of interest issues and recommend responses
- Respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Track, manage, and prioritize numerous responsibilities, emails, and conflicts requests
- Provide leadership to and manage a team of business professionals, including coaching, mentoring, and professional development
- Other duties as assigned

J.D.Minimum Years of Experience
