About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Accounting Operations to lead core accounting operations in a dynamic fintech environment. This role will be responsible for managing the general ledger, while also overseeing Accounts Payable and Payroll functions. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical accounting expertise, a strong understanding of fintech / financial services, and a passion for process improvement and automation.

What You'll Do

Core Accounting & Financial Reporting :

• Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes reviewing various balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the accurate recording of expenses.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and industry-specific standards.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
• Support regulatory reporting and compliance
• Partner with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and filings.

This role will be a hybrid opportunity, 3 days in the office in our NYC location. The salary compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks. For working locations in NY / NJ, the base salary pay range will be $195,000-$210,000.
