The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is in the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), Office of External Affairs, Office of Special Events.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications : Experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Experience : One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as coordinating special events for 100 to 2000 people for a museum, educational or cultural institution; initiating, ordering and tracking purchases; monitoring and tracking expenditures; arranging logistics such as space, facilities maintenance, security, audio-visual services; and communicating with the public, donors and event vendors.
Your resume must be no more than two pages and clearly demonstrate how your experience aligns with the responsibilities and specialized experience required for this position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Or Education : master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Special Instructions for Foreign Education : provide transcripts and proof of U.S. accreditation for foreign study if applicable.
Or a Combination : Education and experience may be combined to meet the basic qualifications.
