Sourcing Manager

Position Summary

Work in effort to optimize sourcing procedures and to attain maximum efficiency for the best quality products at the lowest cost possible. Also act as a sound advisor of product development and production recommendations based on established Sourcing strategy and financial metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities

List the primary job duties and responsibilities.

• Globally source vendors / manufacturers across all countries. Identify new sources for products by meeting vendors and reviewing their capabilities. Maintain and update GMC’s vendor matrix.
• The need for clear understanding of seasonal strategies and staying abreast of Global market conditions and macro trends.
• Negotiate and finalize pricing with all vendors to meet company’s desired target costs with the quality and standard required, as well as comply with the standard rules and regulations.
• Maximize gross margin opportunities through product and packaging re-engineering, alternative packaging locations (PDQ assembly in US v / s factory), in partnership with product development
• Review and vet costs prior to presentation to SVP of Production.
• Establish / maintain cost folio within approved vendor matrix.
• Work closely with Product Development, Design, Marketing & Production Team to execute the sourcing strategy developed with SVP of Production that will optimize speed, cost savings and best product.
• Responsible for working with Merchandise Team to provide cost estimates / development options at initial review to meet targets / margin goals at customer level incorporating royalties, packouts, and customer loads
• Allocate against vendor capability and global supply chain strategy.
• Allocate development and sales samples in partnership with PD based on cost targets, fabric source and vendor capability.
• Participate in brand line review / proto reviews / SMS reviews / adoption & line finalization meetings.
• Direct product efforts towards any special initiative / new product launches / packaging initiatives.
• Review products to ensure requested changes are achievable within sourcing / costing requirements.
• Participate and involved in Calendar Management.
• Maximize cross-functional team effectiveness; build relationship through effective collaboration that contributes to a high performing team; participate as a solution-oriented team member.
• International travels to establish partnership and build relationship with international vendors / agents.
• Partner with Compliance & Testing Team on factories’ compliance status’s and approvals.
• Partner with Imports Team on Duty updates.
• Monitor Cost Logs for Full Packaged and / or Trims
• Monitor seasonal data for historical to review and analyze
• Managed & develop direct reports to ensure accomplishments of deliverables & deadlines.
• Handle and maintain costing on Packaging and Co-Packing costing for all Retailers.
