Research Associate Co-Op, In Vivo Pharmacology (Discovery Team)

At Keros Therapeutics, our mission is to deliver significant clinical benefit to a wide range of patients with disorders that are linked to dysfunctional signaling of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-ß) family of proteins. With a focus on developing differentiated product candidates that are designed to alter TGF-ß signaling, we aim to target the pathways critical for the growth, repair and maintenance of blood cells and a number of tissues, including bone, skeletal muscle, adipose and heart tissue. We believe our product candidates have the potential to unlock the full therapeutic benefits of modulating the TGF-ß superfamily and provide disease-modifying benefit to patients.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative candidate for a 6-month co-op role in our Research group. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in the discovery and development of next-generation therapies for rare diseases. The candidate will gain valuable industry experience and receive extensive training in in vivo and ex vivo research. In addition, a successful candidate will be inquisitive about the science, capable of problem-solving by consulting literature / colleagues and contributes to experimental designs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform in vivo techniques and ex vivo research bench techniques and / or experiments.
• RNA isolation and expression analysis by qRT-PCR.
• Perform in vitro assays to confirm the expression and activity of candidate therapeutic proteins (Western Blot, ELISA).
• Maintain clear, accurate records of lab work and summarize results as needed in study reports.
• Practice attention to detail and provide updates at team meetings.
• Make contributions individually as well as in a team setting.
