Nexstar Media Group is seeking a dynamic and creative Special Projects Producer to join a team focused on developing major content projects across the group. This role is instrumental in executing company-wide initiatives across local broadcast and digital platforms. We’re looking for a visionary storyteller with strong journalistic instincts, a passion for compelling content, and the ability to engage diverse audiences. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and collaborates effectively across departments. This role involves developing original ideas, researching storylines, producing both short and long-form video content, and creating opportunities for local markets to customize material. Flexibility in scheduling and travel—both planned and spontaneous—is essential.

Responsibilities Coordinate calendars and timelines for multiple projects with precision and attention to detail.

Collaborate across departments including news, digital, promotions, operations, and production.

Write, produce, and edit content for broadcast, Connected TV (CTV), and digital platforms.

Contribute to editorial planning for large-scale initiatives and breaking news coverage.

Oversee post-production to ensure accuracy and quality.

Travel as needed to support live events and on-location production.

Communicate project opportunities and updates across Nexstar operations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of two years’ experience in news operations.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams.

Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.

Familiarity with modern television production technology.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts.

Must be based in or willing to relocate to a Nexstar market with a local newsroom supporting all dayparts.

Physical presence in a Nexstar facility is required.
