The Assistant Director for Digital Communications supports University Relations' alumni engagement and fundraising efforts through the planning and implementation of social media, graphic design, multimedia production and email communications projects.
The Assistant Director will develop and execute comprehensive strategies for Creighton alumni social media platforms. Responsibilities include developing a social strategy, writing posts, designing graphics, and engaging users to cultivate a vibrant online community. This position is responsible for monitoring the success of all social campaigns.
Additionally, the Assistant Director will collaborate with the Advancement Communications team to develop compelling multimedia content, as well as designing engaging graphics for digital platforms and basic print pieces. The Assistant Director will assist in building and sending alumni and donor email campaigns.
This position requires strong communication, prioritization, and design skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously. The Assistant Director must build positive working relationships with UR departments, University Communications, other campus partners, and digital vendors. The Assistant Director reports to the Senior Director of Advancement Communications.
Position Responsibilities
Lead and implement social media strategies. Manage alumni social media calendar. Plan and create content for all alumni social media channels. Interact with followers and develop / implement audience engagement strategies. Plan and execute social media advertising campaigns to increase followers and reach. Analyze and report on social analytics, identifying trends and opportunities for engagement and fundraising. In consultation with the annual giving team, develop social media toolkits for fundraising campaigns.
Collaborates with team members to create diverse multimedia content, including photography, video production, and podcast editing, alongside the development of graphics tailored for digital platforms. Supports the editing of print design projects within the University's Template Hub.
Assist with building and sending alumni and donor email campaigns, including event invitations, giving solicitations and others. Other communications duties as assigned.
