Quality Assurance Auditor And Inspector
TransMedics Aviation is seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance Auditor to support and enhance our aviation quality assurance program. This role will perform in-depth audits of CAMP maintenance tracking, aircraft maintenance records, and company quality systems, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. The QA Auditor will directly support the Chief Inspector and ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence across our Phenom 300 fleet and maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Auditing & Compliance
Conduct internal audits in accordance with TransMedics Aviations General Maintenance Manual (GOM), FAA Part 135 requirements, and industry best practices.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled audits of CAMP, including tracking of maintenance events, component life-limited parts, inspections, and airworthiness directive (AD) compliance.
Audit aircraft maintenance records for accuracy, completeness, and traceability of required inspections, RII signatures, and logbook entries.
Assist in the audit and oversight of vendors and contract maintenance providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
Records Management
Research and validate historical maintenance records during aircraft acquisitions, transitions, or maintenance events.
Ensure all records are scanned, filed, and retrievable in accordance with FAA retention requirements and company SOPs.
Support the creation and maintenance of aircraft digital records in CAMP and / or internal quality systems.
Coordinate with Maintenance Control, Materials, and Planning to resolve discrepancies in logbooks or aircraft data.
Quality Program Support
Assist the Chief Inspector with development, revision, and implementation of quality procedures and processes.
Support internal training efforts, including quality-focused briefings or procedural updates to maintenance personnel.
Monitor industry best practices and FAA guidance (e.g., ACs, SAIBs) to recommend improvements to the companys Quality System.
Participate in the investigation and resolution of quality escapes and non-conformances.
Fleet & Technical Support
Collaborate with Technical Services, Planning, and Maintenance teams to ensure compliance with Chapter 4 / 5 maintenance requirements.
Provide Quality Assurance oversight during heavy maintenance events or special inspections.
Track and verify timely incorporation of manufacturers service bulletins (SBs), service letters (SLs), and FAA Airworthiness Directives (ADs).
Required Qualifications
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
Minimum 3 years of experience in aviation maintenance or quality assurance; experience with Part 135 or 145 operations highly desirable.
Familiarity with CAMP Systems, FAA regulations (Parts 43, 135, 145), and industry auditing standards (e.g., AS9110, IOSA, etc.).
Experience with Embraer Phenom 300 maintenance and documentation preferred but not required.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance records, technical documentation, and logbook auditing.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, CAMP, and digital documentation tools.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Ability to travel occasionally for audits or aircraft support.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based at DAL, with occasional work in hangar or line environments.
Must be able to climb ladders, work around aircraft, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to pass background checks and FAA drug & alcohol screening.
