Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Oshkosh, WI

US Citizenship Required, due to government contracts

Must be proficient in CREO

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin . In this role, you will be responsible for designing functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. You’ll perform engineering analysis, design or redesign parts, and support the integration of components into existing and new vehicle programs.

Your Impact

• Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and design tasks in accordance with Oshkosh and industry engineering standards and processes.
• Support senior engineers in preparing design plans, computation methods, and reports.
• Take ownership of projects or sub-projects of limited complexity; may manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure effective design execution.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Maintain clear communication with suppliers, internal teams, and customers on technical matters.
• Ensure adherence to engineering criteria, drawing standards, and company policies.
• Evaluate designs for performance, safety, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Prepare and review layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Conduct engineering analyses to select parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
• Support production with technical expertise and problem-solving.
• Investigate and resolve engineering issues; document findings and communicate results effectively.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, quotations, and presentations.
• Create and maintain project documentation for research and historical reference.
• Use analytical and mathematical methods to model system performance and optimize designs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance is required.
