Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) for a full-time, on-site itinerant position supporting school districts in the Evans, GA area. This opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about providing specialized instruction to visually impaired students and supporting inclusive, accessible learning environments across multiple schools.
Position Details :
Start / End Dates : ASAP May 20, 2026
Schedule : Monday Friday
Hours : Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Caseload : 14 students
Grade Levels : K12
Assignment Type : Itinerant (serving 56 schools)
Pay Rate : TBD
Setting : Onsite only
Key Responsibilities :
Provide direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments in academic and functional skill areas.
Adapt and modify educational materials to ensure accessibility and equitable participation in classroom activities.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure individualized educational needs are met.
Conduct functional vision assessments and provide input for Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
Support students development of independent living, communication, and mobility skills as appropriate.
Provide consultation and training for school personnel on best practices in visual impairment education.
Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and IEP compliance requirements.
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary team members regarding student progress and strategies.
Requirements :
Active Georgia Teaching Certification with Visual Impairments Endorsement required
Must meet all Georgia state and district requirements for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
Snapshot or confirmation of licensure required upon submission
Experience serving K12 students in multiple school settings preferred
Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessibility tools
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
