Architectural Department Manager

JOB SUMMARY : Reporting to the Director of Engineering (DOE), the Department Manager (DM) represents the company in such a way that embodies the company's values and beliefs. The DM is an effective communicator who builds and retains quality relationships with team members and clients. The DM is counted on providing leadership within the company and encourages those same qualities in another team member.

The DM and the team members work together to ensure the team member’s development and job satisfaction. The DM verifies that each team member in their department has the training and resources necessary to carry out their responsibilities and achieve their goals.

All DM’s work as a team to review and evaluate resource needs across all disciplines. The DM collaborates with the Best Practices to determine the best resource assignments for projects based on availability of the resource(s) and the best overall direction for the company and the team member's career objectives.

Resource Hiring

• Evaluate Department forecast and make recommendations to the DOE when additional resources are needed.
• Define role descriptions specific to the discipline.
• Evaluate the need for a direct hire vs contracted resource
• Evaluate resumes as they are received for potential department fit.
• Interview with potential new resources.
