Network Engineer - Optical

Responsibilities
- Design and grow backbone networks, reconfigure, optimize, and upgrade hardware through commissioning projects.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues, support field teams, manage vendor relationships, and prevent network outages.
- Act as technical lead and project manager on smaller projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.
- Partner with engineering teams to develop automation tools and scripts.
- Document processes, workflows, and standardized procedures for knowledge sharing.
- Keep current on emerging networking technologies and automation best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.Experience
3+ years of design and implementation experience with ROADM, DWDM, or CWDM technologies.Experience with DWDM and ROADM platforms from multiple vendors (Ciena 6500 / RLS, Cisco, Nokia).Understanding of OTN, SONET, SDH, TDM, DWDM, and CWDM protocols and standards.Knowledge of Ethernet standards and familiarity with Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) standards.Scripting and automation experience using Python, XML, YANG / NETCONF, Ansible, YAML, GitHub / Gitlab, and additional scripting languages.Experience with TCP / IP, SNMP, Telnet, SSH, and other networking protocols.Licenses & Certifications
Ciena OC-A or OC-P certifications preferred.Where You Will Work
Hybrid model : 2 days work from home (Monday and Friday) and 3 days in the office (Tuesday through Thursday). Travel may be required.

Salary range : $97,400 – $133,900 annually, with discretionary annual bonus, commissions, and equity incentives.
