About this Role
The Safety Coordinator Trainee will be part of a one-year development program for early-career safety professionals. PWR UP is the first step in Quanta's Safety Leadership Academy, a career pathway that develops safety professionals from entry-level roles through to senior leadership. In this role, you will be directly hired by a Quanta Operating Company (OpCo) from day one and supported through a 12-month program that blends training, mentorship, and applied field experience. Participants will :
- Gain hands-on safety experience in real-world projects.
- Participate in monthly workshops, conferences, and coaching sessions.
- Engage in short-term "field trips" to other OpCos and industries for targeted exposure.
- Develop leadership, communication, and analytical skills needed to excel in safety.
- Serve as an active and valued member of the OpCo team, contributing directly to the safety culture and overall success of the organization.
What You'll Do
Conduct jobsite safety observations to identify hazards, assess risks, and support incident management and investigation processes.Assist in developing, delivering, and tracking safety training and safety program compliance.Maintain safety documentation, including incident reports, audits, and training records, while contributing to data analysis and performance trending.Participate in monthly cohort workshops, mentorship sessions, and cross-industry peer learning activities.Contribute to continuous improvement by collaborating with peers during cross-industry site visits and sharing lessons learned.Explore and apply foundational principles of Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) and The Capacity Model (TCM) in daily work.Observe and document how work is actually performed, noting differences between planned and real-world practices.Engage with frontline workers as subject matter experts and active partners in building safety.Use team briefings, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and walkarounds as opportunities to learn and strengthen trust, not just verify compliance.Practice consistent field presence, demonstrating reliability, active listening, and service-oriented support.Plans, schedules, and executes other safety related projects.Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need
Preferred Education :
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.Equivalent education and / or trade experience with demonstrated passion for safety will also be considered.Required Experience :
0 – 5 years experience in related fieldStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsProficient with MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, & Word)Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and externalFlexible to change and open to constructive feedbackAble to work independently with minimal supervisionLicenses / Certifications
None required, Graduate Safety Practitioner certification preferred
