We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple financial projects for a prominent business unit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position involves managing projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This is a long-term contract opportunity for a highly skilled individual with strong expertise in financial systems and project management methodologies.
Responsibilities :
- Direct the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple financial system projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Utilize established project management methodologies to guide project activities and maintain consistent practices.
- Oversee resource allocation, timeline adherence, budget tracking, and quality assurance for all assigned projects.
- Assemble and lead project teams, assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Manage project scope and escalate changes or issues when necessary.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including managers and end-users, regarding project progress, budget status, and deliverables.
- Facilitate communication between finance and IT teams to ensure alignment and efficient execution of project goals.
- Organize and conduct team meetings, draft meeting notes, and share updates with relevant groups.
- Design project structures that are both cost-effective and operationally efficient.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance project outcomes and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent detail-oriented training and experience.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management and project management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with management and diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing financial planning, reporting, and coordination projects involving IT enhancements.
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate meetings, negotiate effectively, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Skilled in analytical problem-solving, organizational techniques, and maintaining project schedules.
- Project Management certification (PMP) is preferred but not required.
