Sr. Program Manager
The Sr. Program Manager in the Project Management Center of Excellence (PMO CoE) will be responsible for consistently managing high-risk, high-reward programs that require a higher level of strategic involvement. These programs are very complex with cross-functional representation and numerous sub-projects are required to drive business growth, profitability, and enhance marketplace reputation. The Sr. Program Manager will also be responsible for supporting the CoE practice buildout to include standardized project and program methodologies, processes and tools. The successful Sr. Program Manager will manage our highest priority cross-functional, cross-disciplinary initiatives that require professional program management support thereby freeing up functional resources from project management activities and is a key contributor to the PMO CoE's success by actively participating in the strategic planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of project management practices within the organization.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the highest priority and typically the largest and most complex programs and projects for the firm
- Partner closely and effectively with executive and senior leaders to manage and assign enterprise-wide projects
- Ensure timely, relevant, succinct, and high-quality reporting to executives and senior leadership team
- Collaborate with senior leaders to define program goals and objectives
- Develop program roadmaps that outline timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Actively monitor project progress, analyze performance metrics, and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including dashboards and reports
- Collaboration with the PMO CoE Director to develop and standardize project and program methodologies, processes, and tools within the CoE framework
- Identify best practices and incorporate them into the CoE's guidelines to enhance consistency and predictability in project delivery
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Present concisely and thoughtfully while facilitating discussions that drive clarity
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, and leaders throughout the entire organization
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize potential disruptions and ensure successful completion
- Provide direction to Project Managers and Senior Project Managers working on projects within the Program Manager's span of responsibility
- Model and set the tone for project management excellence
- Define, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for project and program performance, providing actionable insights to leadership
Required Qualifications :
Strong understanding of the wealth management and financial services industriesBachelor's or master's degree and / or equivalent work experienceMinimum ten years of extensive experience in a complex, project-intensive corporate environmentDemonstrated ability to align project initiatives with organizational strategies for growth and scalabilityProject Management Professional (PMP) certification and Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification (certifications may be exempted by leadership based on extensive post-education project management experience)Experience working and aligning with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, customers, and senior business leaders within business line, user experience, technology, operations, risk management, legal, compliance, and other key partner areasExperience chairing committees and collaborating with executives to plan and execute strategic initiativesPrior experience successfully delivering change in a complex environment while managing competing priorities and delivering projectsProven ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, high-performance, and decentralized environmentHighly skilled communicator, both written and oral. Able to communicate at many levels of the organization, clearly and impactfully sharing thoughts, ideas, and concerns.
