Supports Operations Maintenance training and METRO's bus fleet through technical, mechanical and diagnostic software utilized for advanced and accurate electronic engine, HEV, BEV, and related bus equipment diagnosis and repair. Responsible for the issuance and transfer of diagnostic laptops and current software, troubleshoots technical issues and trains maintenance personnel on use. Delivers training to include onboarding, use of the technology, and selected maintenance topics. Stays abreast of industry trends and new technologies. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
Pay Range : $68,000 - $89,300
Education Requirement
High school diploma or GED is required. Associate degree in Electronic Technology or related field is preferred.
Years & Experience Required
Minimum five (5) years' experience in the use of vehicle or bus maintenance diagnostic software. Experience with Hybrid Electric Vehicle / Battery Electric Vehicle bus technology is required. Classroom training experience and experience in the transit industry is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills Required
A valid Texas Driver's license is required and must meet METRO's motor vehicle records requirements. Ability to learn and support new and rapidly changing technologies. Ability to research solutions or information regarding technical issues. Broad understanding and knowledge of transit bus applications and maintenance. Strong knowledge in electronic engine and transmission controls, ABS brake systems and the various multiplex systems used on the bus fleets. General knowledge of the ASE Automotive Service Excellence program. Strong working knowledge of PC's and related software.
