Qualifications

Candidates should have knowledge of VHSL rules, ability to develop and train student-athletes, and possess personal skills reflecting positive relations with students, parents, and the community. Extensive knowledge of sports fundamentals, organization skills, and a commitment to discipline emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship are required. Prior coaching experience is necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with or eligible for a Virginia teaching license. Disclosure of prior convictions is required as per state law.

Additional Information

Coaching / playing experience is helpful. The role involves after-school and weekend hours, with coaching stipends available. Duties are performed in school settings, requiring physical activity, frequent contact with student-athletes, and travel to matches. Regular interaction with coaches, administrators, parents, and media is expected.
