Manager, Asset Management Programs
The Manager, Asset Management Programs is responsible for the ownership of the capital asset renewal and associated maintenance programs and strategies. This includes substation, transmission line, and protection and control equipment that supports the reliable operation of the transmission system. Through effective identification, decision making, prioritization and resource allocation, drive reliability improvements for retail and industrial customers, as well as improved reliability for key facilities such as generating station switchyards. This includes development of value optimized asset strategies, oversight of plan execution, validation of expected results, workgroup direction & strategic planning, financial stewardship, maintenance standards development, and technology advancement in asset strategies.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Responsible for the ownership of capital asset renewal and maintenance programs and strategies for all transmission system equipment including substation, transmission line, and protection and control equipment.
Maintain equipment commissioning procedures and develop new equipment commissioning procedures as needed.
Oversight and responsibility for supporting related NERC requirements including audit representation including protection system maintenance program (PRC-005) and physical security plan ownership (CIP-014) for identified facilities.
Maintain existing maintenance standards and task priority rankings including technical basis and develop new maintenance standards as needed; including the development and migration to condition-based maintenance programs to the extent possible.
Identify & prioritize capital asset renewal, system configuration, and other associated program projects; maintain 5-year prioritized capital investment plan for each Grid total investment of roughly $1 Billion. Prioritize projects for all stakeholders including retail and industrial customers along with generating station switchyards and BES reliability driven needs.
Provide oversight and support to the Grids for the successful execution of annual capital reliability improvement plans.
Facilitate development of annual committed work plan (maintenance plan ~$40M per year) with the Grid organizations.
Provide management and oversight for system spare equipment strategy, inventory levels and deployment of system spare equipment. Manages capital budget of more than $20M per year.
Responsible for the ownership of transmission line inspection and patrol programs and optimization opportunities including the management of the Transmission UAS / Aviation program, imagery processing, and other ongoing program and technological advancements.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
Minimum 10 years of engineering, asset management, compliance, and / or transmission, distribution, or generation operational experience. 4 years of Supervisory, Managerial, Leadership experience preferred.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Demonstrated exceptional leadership ability. Excellent interpersonal skills; team player. Experience in managing / executing capital and / or O&M projects. Thorough understanding of transmission procedures, programs, and standards. Strong organizational skills with ability to lead multiple workgroups and projects simultaneously. Knowledge of utility electric system design and operations. Knowledge of budgets, financial procedures, and property accounting. Knowledge of FERC, NERC, and SERC regulatory requirements.
