Install, maintain, upgrade, and support the County's information systems and network, including but not limited to : servers, server applications, mass storage devices, network equipment, backup hardware and software, operating systems, and other software. Participate in the analysis, design, and planning of infrastructure to support new applications and technologies. Prepare, manage, and test physical security systems, including access control and CCTV hardware and software. Maintain physical elements of data centers (cooling, power, etc.). Other duties may be assigned.

• Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade, and support Microsoft server technology including server and desktop operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
• Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade, and support Microsoft application server technology including WSUS, SQL, and Office 365.
• Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade, and support Symantec Backup Exec, tape drives, libraries, and proper backup and data preservation techniques.
• Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade, and support data center physical elements (cooling, power, etc.).
• Understand principles of routing and switching, firewalls, and VLANs.
• Implement virtualization technologies including servers and storage systems.
• Prepare, manage, and test Cisco telephony hardware and software.
• Support mass storage hardware from various manufacturers.
• Advise Operational Network Manager on hardware and software issues.
• Respond to user service requests via the IT work order system.
• Organize and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Refer users to the IT help desk for unsupported requests.
• Assist in installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of network cabling and related hardware.
• Document and respond to user work order requests.
• Maintain County-issued vehicle and equipment.
• Identify security considerations for OS releases and recommend security measures.
• Perform security risk analysis, incident tracking, and reporting.
• Maintain intrusion detection systems.

High school diploma or equivalent, plus at least two years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid, clear driver's license required.

Knowledge of systems analysis, design, and development; networking concepts; routing and switching; installation, repair, and maintenance of hardware and electronic equipment. Skills in Microsoft servers, network security, troubleshooting, and documentation. Ability to maintain cooperative relationships, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines. Experience with Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft Windows, Networking, SANs, Security, Server Hardware, Wireless, and Virtualization technologies.
