Job Description

The Sr. Maintenance Electrician repairs and maintains electrical and mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, power tools, production machines, building / facility, as well as preventative maintenance and emergency response by performing the following duties with minimal supervision. Ability to train lower level electricians and trainees / general helpers. Provides basic hand tools.

Job Summary :

  • General maintenance, on various equipment such as, pumps, cranes, hoist, hydraulic systems, and steam generators. This includes general maintenance in addition to electrical maintenance.
  • Make repairs, replacements, adjustments, inspections, trouble shoot, and preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Operates all types of conventional power tools
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Installs new equipment
  • Drive forklift, aerial boom lifts, scissors lifts
  • Repairs electrical equipment, run conduit
  • Layout jobs in compliance with NEC
  • Uses various electrical meters as required per specific job
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and frequency inverters

Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of PLC systems and Frequency inverters.
  • Simple plumbing knowledge is a must
  • Ability to perform some welding and soldering
  • Familiar with National Electrical Code
  • Good electrical and mechanical skills to perform the needed repairs and installations
  • Good understanding of the NEC with respect to Industrial Applications and knowledge of how to apply to keep the facility within code requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of various control systems on equipment and HVAC Systems.
  • Critical thinking skills and good decision making thought processes
  • Ability to effectively communicate among all levels within the organization.

    • Required Experience and Education :

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in related field and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Pay Range : $26.00 to $36.00 (hourly estimate)
