Midtown Tulsa seeking an experienced Engine Assembler
Job Summary
The Assembler III is responsible for assembling and disassembling internal combustion engines according to standard procedures. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to diagnose and correct issues during assembly and testing, and experience with both mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be skilled in troubleshooting, precision assembly, and working within a structured team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and correct mechanical and electrical problems identified during testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues discovered during engine build-up.
- Read and interpret AC and DC power and wiring schematics.
- Assemble and disassemble internal combustion engines in accordance with established procedures.
- Use mechanic’s hand tools, power hoists, and other standard equipment safely and effectively.
- Align engine components such as camshaft and crankshaft gears, set timing, and adjust clearances between fixed and moving parts.
- Examine parts and completed assemblies to detect malfunctions; replace or repair defective parts per assembly instructions.
- Follow instructions and work under direct supervision while maintaining quality standards.
- Assist with documenting processes and training other team members as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum 5 years of experience working with small or large horsepower gaseous and diesel-fueled engines.Vocational or technical training in automotive mechanics preferred.Prior experience as an internal combustion engine mechanic strongly preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of diesel or natural gas industrial engines is preferred.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.Ability to use mechanic’s hand tools, power hoists, and precision measuring instruments.Proficiency in reading and interpreting assembly drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow established processes.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, grasp, climb, and walk.Fine finger manipulation and frequent use of hand tools.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Schedule – Day Shift Mon-Fri 6am – 3pm
Pay $DOE $23+ / hr
