Overview

Remote role to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions using Watsonx, including watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, and watsonx.governance. The architect will partner with business executives, technology stakeholders, and delivery teams to define strategy, establish governance, and build production-ready AI systems that deliver measurable business value.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of end-to-end AI / GenAI solutions using Watsonx and related technologies
• Develop scalable designs that incorporate RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), data pipelines, governance, and model lifecycle management
• Integrate AI solutions into enterprise ecosystems (cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments)
• Implement Watsonx.governance frameworks to ensure responsible AI adoption, covering fairness, transparency, explainability, and regulatory alignment
• Define policies for data privacy, model monitoring, auditability, and bias mitigation
• Serve as a trusted advisor to client executives and technology leaders, translating business requirements into technical AI solutions
• Conduct workshops, proofs of concept, and design sessions to showcase platform capabilities
• Provide thought leadership on the evolving AI / GenAI landscape
• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented as designed
• Mentor solution engineers, data scientists, and developers on best practices for AI solution delivery
• Develop reference architectures, accelerators, and reusable assets for repeatable client success

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical / dental / vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
