Job Title : Heavy Civil Construction Estimator

Location : Forestville, MD

Note : This is not a remote position. Flippo has built infrastructure projects in Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland for over 50 years. Position : Heavy Civil Construction Estimator with underground utilities (wet / dry) experience. The organization aims for a fast and efficient hiring process.

Responsibilities and requirements are described below.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with all project stakeholders to determine projected timeframes, labor needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks.
• Review project plans and specifications.
• Estimate crew costs including number and class of personnel, equipment items, and other daily expenses.
• Estimate production costs.
• Negotiate with material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify and flag costs that present risks to the Chief Estimator.
• Review project estimates with the Chief Estimator.
• Complete and review bid documents.
• Submit bid documents within deadline requirements.
• Prepare bid turnover information, contract bond order form, and adjust bids to reflect last-minute price changes.
• Lead role in job turnover to Superintendent and project management.
• Other duties as assigned.
