Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Instrument Engineer
to join our client’s team in Sugar Land, TX, with critical support responsibilities for major oil & gas refinery and midstream projects in Lake Charles, LA. This is a
hands-on engineering role
focused on specifying and selecting field instrumentation for complex process facilities.
This position is not control system programming (DeltaV, Rockwell, etc.), but instead requires deep technical expertise in
field devices, valves, transmitters, and Rosemount instrumentation
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze
process data
provided by engineering firms.
Translate process information into
ISA specification sheets
for instrumentation devices.
Specify, evaluate, and select the correct instrumentation (valves, transmitters, field devices—especially Rosemount) for each application.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Collaborate closely with project engineering teams to support critical project deliverables.
Provide hands-on technical expertise during design, specification, and selection phases.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
(Instrumentation, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
7+ years of experience in
instrumentation engineering
for oil & gas refinery or midstream process facilities.
Strong knowledge of
ISA standards and specifications
Proven ability to interpret process data and translate it into detailed device specifications.
Extensive experience with
Rosemount instrumentation
preferred.
Background with
large EPC firms
or major process industry projects strongly preferred.
Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with excellent technical problem-solving skills.
Must be based in, or willing to relocate to,
Sugar Land, TX
, with occasional travel to Lake Charles, LA.
