Assistant Facility Security Officer

The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) supports the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in the management and oversight of Aleut Federal's security program. The AFSO helps ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Department of Defense (DoD), and Department of Energy (DOE) security requirements. In addition, the AFSO may also serve as the Insider Threat Program Security Officer (ITPSO), supporting the development, implementation, and execution of Aleut Federal's Insider Threat Program.
This role provides operational continuity when the FSO is unavailable and contributes to personnel security (PERSEC), industrial security (INDSEC), facility clearance (FCL) management, and insider threat program execution.
Facility & Industrial Security
- Support compliance with NISPOM, DoD, DCSA, and DOE regulations
- Participate in planning and implementation of facility security procedures
- Assist with DCSA and DOE audits, inspections, self-inspections, and corrective actions
- Support FSO in maintaining the Facility Clearance (FCL) for several entities
Personnel Security (PERSEC)
Assist with initiation, tracking, and renewal of security clearances through DISS, NISS, NBIS, SignIn Compliance (SIC), and DOE systemsCoordinate fingerprinting, background investigations, and clearance-related processesConduct or support security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, and foreign travel / exit briefingsMaintain accurate clearance records and databases in compliance with both DoD and DOE requirementsTraining & Awareness
Support the creation and delivery of security training, refresher briefings, and awareness campaignsReinforce compliance and best practices through regular communication and refresher trainingInsider Threat Program (ITPSO Duties)
Support the Insider Threat Program (ITP) in alignment with SEAD 3, NISPOM Rule (32 CFR 117), and company policiesConduct and document insider threat training and awareness sessions for employeesMaintain reporting procedures for insider threat indicators and ensure employees know their obligationsCollaborate with HR, IT, Legal, and leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate insider threat risksSupport the FSO in reporting incidents and maintaining program documentation for DCSA security reviewsAdministrative & Reporting Support
Assist with preparation of reports, correspondence, and compliance documentation for DCSA, DoD, and DOEHelp interpret and implement security policies across Aleut Federal programsSupport the processing of visit authorizations (VARs) and related security forms (e.g., SF-86, SF-312, DOE equivalents)Assist with DD-254 processing, DOE contract security forms, and compliance documentationEnsure timely, accurate record-keeping to maintain compliance readinessEducation / Training
BA / BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience.Experience
Led teams or projects or equivalent experience / combined education, with 3-4 years of professional experience.Working knowledge of NISPOM, DoD 5220.22-M, DOE orders (e.g., DOE O 470 series), DISS, NISS, NBIS, and related systems.Familiarity with SF-86, SF-312, DD-254s, DOE security forms, SF-700, SF-702, and related documentation.Prior experience supporting DoD and / or DOE PERSEC, industrial security, or facility security operations.Understanding of Insider Threat Program (ITP) requirements and ability to execute ITPSO duties.Skills / Abilities

This is a Hybrid position that requires work to be performed onsite at a corporate location at least 1 day per week.Working indoors in an office or home office environmentSpecial Requirements
Must have and be able to maintain a DoD Top-Secret Clearance and DOE "Q" clearanceMust be a US Citizen.Salary / Rate Range $90,000-$105,000. We will accept applications for this position until 11 / 01 / 2025.
