The City of Fort Worth Economic Development Department is seeking an Economic Development Coordinator to assist with the implementation of programs and projects focused on strategic development and revitalization.
The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing strategies specific to redevelopment and revitalization, as identified in the updated 2022 Economic Development Strategic Plan and the Full-Strength Fort Worth revitalization strategy. Primary duties will include implementation of strategies to promote redevelopment of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts and Revitalization Target Areas (RTA), creating enhanced quality of life and attracting mixed-use and commercial development.
Responsibilities :
- Advance the outlined strategies and project and financing plans (PFPs) of TIF districts
- Catalyze, analyze, and negotiate real estate development projects
- Maintain financial oversight, analysis, and projections for current or new proposed TIFs
- Negotiate terms and conduct contract compliance reporting associated with redevelopment, programs, and placemaking initiatives
- Provide direct support, contract compliance, and guidance in the implementation of strategic revitalization projects
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with residents, businesses, developers, nonprofits, and government officials
- Represent the City, prepare and deliver presentations and reports for diverse audiences
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or Political Science and four years of related experienceFour years of experience in economic / community development, real estate finance, or related fieldProficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in data and project management tools preferredPreferred Qualifications :
A Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Economic and Community Development, Urban and Regional Planning, Real Estate Finance, or related fieldA Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation, Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) designation, or a certificate from the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute (OUEDI)Strong financial and / or real estate development understanding and analysis skillsExperience working with Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ) and other tax abatement and grant programsWorking Conditions : Sedentary work, with occasional standing, walking, and repetitive motions.
