Job Title : Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator
The Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for performing advanced accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, payment execution, account reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. This role acts as a lead within the AP team, providing support, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Perform day-to-day accounts payable operations, including high-volume invoice processing and payment runs
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all disbursements (checks, ACH, wires)
- Review and reconcile vendor statements and resolve complex discrepancies
- Monitor aging reports and maintain accurate records of outstanding payables
- Assist with monthly and year-end close, including accruals, journal entries, and reporting
- Lead or participate in AP-related projects and process improvement initiatives
- Support the AP Manager with audits, internal controls, and policy compliance
- Serve as the point of contact for escalated vendor and internal inquiries
- Mentor and support training of junior AP team members
- Maintain and enforce adherence to company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications :
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred35 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, with increasing levels of responsibilityAbility to work onsite 4 days / week from our Burr Ridge officeStrong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practicesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP / accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks) NetSuite experience a plusExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsHigh level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detailStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Skills :
Experience with 3-way match and PO-based invoice processingKnowledge of 1099 preparation and sales / use tax regulationsFamiliarity with process automation tools or AP workflow systemsKnowledge of SOX compliancePrior experience leading or mentoring team membersBenefits :

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The base salary will depend on a number of factors such as : qualifications, experience level, and skillset.
