Quality Engineer II – Aerospace Manufacturing

Primary Purpose
The Quality Engineer drives quality forward through effective communication internally and externally.
Responsibilities
- Maintain configuration control documentation through contract review and blueprint / specification control.
- Manage multiple customer accounts including OEMs and sub-tiers; act as backup QE for additional customers.
- Work with Engineering to submit waivers and concessions and review and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Participate in investigation and disposition of customer complaints and returns.
- Communicate and submit corrective actions to customers and internally.
- Review purchase orders for customer related items.
- Act as internal quality representative for internal and external customers.
- Achieve certification for customer source inspection and complete required training.
- Lead continual improvement projects and provide training / coaching as needed.
- Participate in internal, external, special process, customer audits as an internal auditor.
- Subject matter expert on customer specific requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline (preferred).4+ years as a Quality Engineer or comparable quality discipline.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and basic use of network folders.Experience uploading and downloading information from customer websites.Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write clear instructions.Well organized, able to multi-task and work independently in a high-paced team environment.Positive attitude and willingness to get the job done.Read and understand blueprints and detailed customer specifications.Preferred
Experience in castings industry.ISO 9001 or AS 9100 experience.Additional Information
