The Accounting Associate is a detail-oriented person that prepares, maintains and processes accounts payable and receivable, bank deposits and assists with office assignments. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Enter and review vendor bills
- Code expenses to the appropriate G / L account and allocate expense between entities
- Review or seek approval for invoices
- Review vendor bills for sales tax or apply use tax as needed
- Prepare accounts payable checks & reports
- Review customer invoices for sales tax as appropriate
- Enter customer invoices, send payment links and invoices to customers
- Post payments to customer accounts
- Follow up on late payments and collections
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skill / Experience Requirements
General accounting knowledgeFormal accounting education preferredExperience with Microsoft Office, including ExcelAbility to work with accounting information for multiple entities and multiple locationsHighly organized and high attention to detailExcellent interpersonal skills and customer-service orientation towards both internal and external customers
