We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the design and development of electrical / electronic systems and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of electrical engineering. Essential Functions :
- Assist in the design and development of electrical / electronic design concepts under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Work from specification requirements, design concepts, and inputs from customers and other engineers.
- Support the implementation of design concepts into working prototypes and finished products.
- Support other engineers in the design of mixed signal Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
- Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
- Assist in the development of test methods and associated test equipment for vetting CCAs.
- Review Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layouts and provide support to facilitate board fabrication and assembly.
- Communicate with team members to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress.
- Assist in preparing and presenting internal trade studies and design reviews to demonstrate that designs meet specifications and requirements.
- Gain familiarity with CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics Expedition, LTSpice, Matlab, MathCAD, or other CAD tools as needed.
Qualifications :
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institutionStrong interest in electrical / electronic design and development.Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Familiarity with MS Office products.Preferred Additional Skills :
Basic knowledge of mixed signal Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and development.Understanding of schematic capture and PCB layout.Experience with programming languages such as C or C++ or LabVIEW is a plus.Familiarity with design analysis and establishing circuit-level tests.Basic knowledge of FPGA development is a plus.Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
