Inventory Specialist II

This position is located in the Warehouse Services Unit, at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicle Headquarters in Blythewood, SC.
Responsibilities of the Inventory Specialist II :
- Responsible for requisitioning / ordering all DMV forms and supplies that are stored at the Agency's Warehouse.
- Maintains inventory stock levels within Supply Management with established reorder points and adequate safety stock, also responsible for inputting Inventory data into the States Enterprise System, SAP. Also, on their request will assists Procurement and all Section Directors that have inventory stored within Supply Management with inventory data on material history obtained from the SAP System.
- Acts as a liaison between the Department of Motor Vehicles Supply Management and the outside Vendors and Contractors that produce the Agency's forms and supplies.
- Responsible for executing quality control checks on all forms and supplies received by Supply Management prior to receiving into the Inventory System, SAP. Also responsible for executing a monthly inventory cycle-count and review of all forms and supplies with the assistance of the Floor Supervisor.
- Responsible for assisting all Field Offices and Sections / Offices in Headquarters with any inventory or supply information and / or problems, this includes trouble tickets for inventory held within these sections.
- Responsible for administering and executing the Agency's fiscal year end supply inventory under the GAP procedures within Supply Management.
- Performs other duties as required by the Warehouse Manager or Assistant Manager.
- All requests for other duties required will be issued either orally or in writing.
State Minimum Requirements :
A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted with prior approval.Agency Requirements :
Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.Additional Requirements :
Must have knowledge of federal and state laws, agency policies, procedures, rules and regulations.Ability to plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals.Must have knowledge of warehouse business practices and inventory control procedures this includes ordering, reorder points, lead times and safety stock.Must have working knowledge of Inventory Management and Material Management in SAP and the ECC Module in Citrix. Ability to maintain automated and manual records.Must have ability to establish a good working relationship with all divisions within the agency and with outside interests.Performs job duties under general supervision.Must be able to make independent decisions in routine matters with their knowledge of Inventory Management and the Policy and Procedures within the agency.Must be able to communicate effectively both oral and written.Must be able to bend, stoop and lift over 40 pounds.Must have a valid S.C. Driver's License.Must have basic computer knowledge.The work hours for the person in this position are 8 : 00 to 4 : 30.Agency Preferred :
