About the role

Are you passionate about swimming and eager to inspire the next generation of swimmers?

HealthFitness, in partnership with the Cornerstone Aquatics Center, is thrilled to offer exciting opportunities for Assistant Swim Coaches at our state-of-the-art 25,000 sq. ft. facility in West Hartford, Connecticut (CT). This position is part-time working approximately 15 hours / week.

Provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for swim team participants. Attends swim meets and team functions throughout the year, and is responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, safe and positive environment for the swim team participants.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in creating thorough, age-appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, and practice drills
• Participate in structured practices in weekday evenings throughout the year
• Assist head coach with administrative matters relating to the team, swim meet arrangements and team performance as well as interaction with parents
• Help to record all workouts and track daily attendance
• Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations and recording times and collecting other relevant data at swim meets; attend swim team events such as meets, meetings, social events, etc. at the direction of the head coach; assist in swim team social event planning, as necessary
• Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment
• Assist in stroke clinics (if any) offered between competitive seasons
• Participate in coach training opportunities offered by the head coach
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and positive environment for swim team participants
• Additional duties as needed or assigned

Minimum Requirements

Compensation : $15 - $18 / hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
