Overview Product Design Lead, Manager level – Premium Design. We’re seeking a Product Designer to join our Experience Design - Premium (Velocity Black) team. Role Expectations As a Product Designer, you’ll combine craft expertise and leadership with an understanding of customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems and influence product strategy.

Key competencies :

Product Design Expertise : Demonstrates skill across interaction, visual and service design; informs the use of tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems; creates artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs and prototypes.

Leadership : Leads design projects, delegates work for junior team members, partners with cross-functional teams, and mentors to mature the product design practice.

Human-Centered : Navigates partner needs, leverages data and research insights, and focuses on inclusive, customer-centered solutions within technical constraints.

Business-Focused : Applies customer, competitive and market insights to shape a shared point of view for the team and stakeholders.

Problem-Solving : Understands tech and data capabilities, uses this knowledge to inform work and navigate constraints for impactful solutions.

Collaboration : Fosters cross-functional partnerships to drive product strategy and share solutions.

Communication : Presents work clearly to varied audiences, influencing strategic decisions at senior levels with a human-centered approach.

The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio demonstrating leadership, process, results and impact.

Basic Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in a Product Design role

At least 5 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma

Preferred Qualifications At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role

At least 6 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma

Experience working with and contributing to an established design system

Experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners

Experience leading design projects or teams

Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are for candidates hired to work within listed locations and reflect the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated.

McLean, VA : $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, Design; Richmond, VA : $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, Design; New York, NY : $172,800 - $197,200 for Manager, Design.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location; the actual salary offered will be in the offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and / or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
