Water & Sewer Technician

The Water & Sewer Technician installs, repairs, and maintains water and sewer mains and lines.

Examples Of Duties

• Installs, maintains, and repairs water and sewer mains and lines
• Operates a backhoe, trencher, front-end loader, and dump truck to install water and sewer services
• Locates and repairs leaks in water and sewer lines
• Makes water and sewer taps
• Maintains wells; adds chemicals and performs preventive maintenance
• Sets water meters
• Performs preventive maintenance procedures on assigned equipment
• Makes and repairs utility cuts necessitated by water and sewer repairs
• Operates a boring machine to install water and sewer pipes
• Flushes and cleans water and sewer lines
• Answers emergency service calls as required
• Sets barricades, cones, and warning signs at work sites
