The Boeing Company is seeking General mechanics to support our program in San Antonio, TX.
Overview
Selected Candidates Will Have
- 4+ years of on-aircraft general maintenance experience. Please clearly indicate on your resume your aircraft platform experience and years of experience with aircraft maintenance and modifications.
- Demonstrated experience on-aircraft Depot Level / Heavy General maintenance. Experience working various aircraft exterior and interior systems such as : hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines.
- Demonstrated experience with preserving aircraft structure, sealing, shimming, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and retrofit requirements to perform modifications and aircraft servicing.
- The ability to obtain customer approval for aircraft access, for which Dual citizenship or prior citizenship of any other country may preclude the ability to obtain access.
Responsibilities
Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure and systems in accordance with standard repair processes.Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform modification / repair.Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.Have detailed knowledge of aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.Perform flight controls installation, removal and rigging; landing gear servicing of aircraft.Perform essential component change outs (e.g., servo pumps, filters, engine components).Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.Able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.Ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, tools, etc., to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.Must be able to work various shifts and / or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and / or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.Requirements / Basic Qualifications
The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads approximately 35 pounds.Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms.Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms as required.Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.Read, write, and comprehend the English language.Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.Obtain and maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities.Occasional finger manipulation; 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs.Frequent reaching overhead; walking on flat surfaces; standing on flat or uneven surfaces; balancing on ladders or stairs; occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders.Rotation of head / neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bending / stooping, lying down, and operating foot controls for an extended period.Occasional contact with metals; frequent exposure to noise.Willingness to work any shift and overtime as required; customer access may require background checks.Preferred Qualifications
Currently possess an FAA A&P License or Military Technical School equivalent.Experience performing aircraft engine runs and engine borescope inspections.Operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding-type electric powered elevating equipment.Payment and Benefits
Pay Rate Range : 35-40 USD hourly. Benefits information : Optional Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K.
